If I was going to buy new furniture, and money was no object, I’m not really sure what I’d do. I could decorate my house all in traditional Japanese style, with real futons and low furniture, like dinner tables and vanities. Or I could go with rustic furniture and make my whole place up to look like the lodge at a west coast camp ground from the fifties. That would be especially nice if I had a little place in southern California or northern Washington, both places I grew up in. I’d have my whole apartment done up woodsy retro, with all pine furniture. And speaking of retro, I’ve also really coveted a tiki motif, somewhere between the authentic Hawaii and the campy stuff from the sixties.
